What's On Deck?

In the past week, Major League Baseball has finally come to a conclusion that they are banning the home plate collision between a runner trying to score and the catcher who is trying to tag him out. The rule now states that a player cannot go out of his regular path to score in order to initiate contact with the catcher unless, and a heavy emphasis on unless, the catcher is blocking the plate and has yet to receive the baseball. The rule will start out in 2015 as it is too soon for the rule to debut during this upcoming season as there is simply not enough time for players to adjust with opening day virtually one month away.
