The Cracking Will Return This Weekend!

Due to an extremely busy week at my day job I have not been able to crack any wax this week.  I promise this weekend I will unleash a hit extravaganza with autographs to make up for my time away.  Hang with me, everyone, I will be back to cracking soon!  Thanks for your patience and continued readership of my site while I have been away.

Spikes Play Longest Game in Team History in Front of Record Crowd

It was one heck of a way to finish their 2014 regular season home slate–a five hour, 15-inning marathon, finishing just after midnight, an outfielder as the winning pitcher, and a record crowd of 6,066.  The State College Spikes (St. Louis Cardinals) used walk-off heroics from outfielder Collin Radack, and fellow outfielder Kenny Peoples-Walls pitched the final third of the 15th inning to pick up the win as the Spikes downed the Batavia Muckdogs (Miami Marlins) 13-12 on August 30.

Perhaps a Twitter post from Spikes pitcher Will Anderson says it best, “Wowwww! What a game! Crazy things happen after midnight.”

Pack 184: Bowman Platinum Baseball

I cracked some 2014 Bowman Platinum on a whim today. I like to try to share all the new products coming out with you all when I can.  Today was a pretty fitting pack with one of the hits I got, David Price. I think the Tigers got off easy with what they had to give up to get Price. Austin Jackson is good, but Price might put the Tigers over the top. Verlander, Scherzer, Price…damn!  I will have more on the trades tomorrow. Here are today’s hits:

My Lag in Posting

I apologize for pulling a disappearing act on Wax Cracker recently. I am currently in the process of moving into my own place, thus leaving life a little hectic of late. I should be in my new place very soon and it shouldn’t take me long to settle in. I will back in full force with multiple wax crackings and maybe even crack a super nice product to make up for my time away from the site. Until then, Patrick, John, Sterling, and/or Brian may post some stories in place of mine.

I very much appreciate your patience and can’t wait to get back to sharing my hits with you all!

See you all soon,

-Casey
